Welcome to Bangalore also known as Bengaluru!

Bangalore, the capital of the state of Karnataka in India is located towards its southeastern part. It is popularly known as the IT city or the ‘Silicon Valley’ as it is the highest national IT employer and exporter.

It is also a major economic hub and is making its mark as one of the smartest metropolis to look out for as it has a tremendous rate of growth.

It is already the third most populous city and is among the top five with maximum urban agglomeration too.

It is home to many well-known and popular colleges and research institutes as well as top software and public sector, heavy companies.

Important organizations related to defence, aerospace and telecommunications are also centered here making it the financial nucleus in every sense.

There have been many historical references to Bangalore but it is only since 1537 that we have a chronological record of its development. This was the time when Kempe Gowda who is supposed to be the precursor of modern Bangalore built a fort made of mud and brick.

He made it a province of the Vijayanagar kingdom. It came into prominence under the British as a crucial centre of the colonial rule in south India.

It is still known for its beautiful cantonment, which attracted many migrants from other parts of the country even then.
